Installing Microsoft Security Essentials in Windows 7

Windows 7 platform has inbuilt Windows Firewall and Windows Defender for its protection. But that may not be enough, as there are a lot of strong viruses, worms and malwares in the internet that can make the Windows Firewall and Windows Defender a Joke. So Microsoft learned, from the feedbacks, that a real time protection is necessary for Windows platforms. So, they introduced Microsoft Security Essentials. Until the Security Essentials was released, Windows platform users had to rely on third party antivirus software and real time scanner utilities and tools. Third party protections software uses too much of valuable system resources also. Windows 7 support forums have given very good ratings for the Microsoft Security Essentials software.

Microsoft Security Essentials

Basically, Security Essentials is the free Anti-virus software from Microsoft with real time protection ability. When it is installed in Windows 7, it combines with the Windows Firewall and defender to enhance the protection. System Resources are used less by this software and the Pop-ups from this software comes only in critical stages. Here are some instructions for downloading and installing Microsoft Security Essentials.

The New Windows 8 Rocks

Microsoft has at last opened the gate to the most awaited operating system of the year. They released the New Windows Series platform on October 30 2012. There are many changes in the Beta version and the final release of the software. From the first look, what I could say was only one word. Amazing!

What is New?
Windows 8 is a lot of different from its predecessor Windows 7. From the boot itself, everything is different. The boot loader is changed. The boot screen is different. Boot time is very fast compared to Windows 7. Boot time is almost about 15 seconds. The Windows Welcome and login screen is very simple and different. The desktop is adopted from the Windows 7 Aero desktop. But there are some differences in the appearance of the Desktop. The Windows 8 Desktop has a new feature called Metro apps. Metro apps are applications that can be solely downloaded from Windows Store. They are also called as Windows Store apps. The Metro apps (Name from Metro Design Language) are apps designed with the sole purpose of functioning in the Desktop. These apps run in Sand Box environment to ensure the stability and security of the platform. The best thing is that Windows 8 Metro apps from Windows store are free of cost.
The windows pane also has many differences. It consists of the Ribbon pane, which contains a lot of utilities and quick launches. This Windows 8 Help option also features new options.

More Touch Compatibility; No Compromise for Normal PC!
Windows 8 PC platform has borrowed the simplistic touch UI from the Windows Mobile platform. This makes the Windows 8 platform very good for touch PC and tablets. At the Same time, Microsoft has made no compromise in the Windows 8 operating system for use in normal PC.

Versions and Architecture
Windows 8 is available in four mainstream versions and they are Windows 8, Windows 8 Pro, Windows RT (for ARM Devices) and Media Center Edition. The Windows 8 and Windows 8 Pro are the versions for sale. The other two versions will come to the users through OEM. Media center edition is available as Pro pack upgrade for Windows 8 users. Windows 8 is similar to Windows 7 in architecture. It is available in both x86 (32-bit) and X64(64-bit) architecture.
With the reliable support from Microsoft and effective Windows 8 Help, Windows 8 will surely be a hit in the market.
