Installing Microsoft Security Essentials in Windows 7

Windows 7 platform has inbuilt Windows Firewall and Windows Defender for its protection. But that may not be enough, as there are a lot of strong viruses, worms and malwares in the internet that can make the Windows Firewall and Windows Defender a Joke. So Microsoft learned, from the feedbacks, that a real time protection is necessary for Windows platforms. So, they introduced Microsoft Security Essentials. Until the Security Essentials was released, Windows platform users had to rely on third party antivirus software and real time scanner utilities and tools. 2. Select your platform (Windows 7) and Language of the program (Your Preference) in the next page.  After that, click on the Download button aligned to the right side. Your download will shortly begin. Select the destination for saving the file and the files name will be mseinstall.exe by default.
3. The file size will be nearly 10.6 MB. After the download finishes, double click on the file to open the Installation Wizard. Complete the Installation after accepting the Terms and Conditions or EULA. After the installation is complete, restart your PC and update the Virus Definitions in the software. After the updates are complete, Microsoft Security Essential is ready and set to remove the intruders.

Automatic Installation Using Windows Update

1. Open the Windows Update. Microsoft Security Essentials will be present in the Optional Updates list. Check the box and click the update button.
2. After the Update is complete, Windows will install the Microsoft Security Essentials software automatically.
